Our Training Programmes

Master your aircraft with our professional flight training courses

TBM Class-Rating Courses

The TBM class-rating course is Classic Air’s core training programme, developed in partnership with Daher. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on flight experience, this course prepares pilots for safe and proficient operation of TBM aircraft. Upon successful completion, an EASA Single-Engine Turboprop (SET) class-rating is issued, authorising the holder to act as pilot-in-command on the TBM family.

Theoretical Training

Online self-study module covering aircraft systems, performance, limitations, and operational procedures — validated by a written examination.

Flight Training — 6 Days

During the in-flight training phase, you will experience taking command of a TBM aircraft — whether it is your own or a rented one* — under the guidance of a highly experienced instructor.

* Classic Air can assist you in renting a TBM aircraft.

Requirements

* Classic Air can deliver the HPA Course. See below or contact our team for more information.

High Performance Aeroplane Course

For non-ATPL pilots

A High-Performance Aeroplane (HPA) theoretical knowledge course is mandatory for EASA PPL(A) holders to fly a TBM airplane classed as a High-Performance Aeroplane, before entering the Class-rating Course.

This course is defined by EASA to provide a pilot (without ATPL examination) with sufficient knowledge to enter a class or type rating course for an aeroplane that is defined as “High Performance”.

Course Content

Once the HPA course is completed, a certificate is issued by the ATO. This certificate is a prerequisite for entering the TBM class-rating course.

Mountain Courses

Based in the French Pyrenees — an ideal environment for mountain operations — Classic Air delivers specialised mountain qualifications that extend your operational envelope to altiports and altisurfaces. Strict EASA standards, real-world pyrenean terrain.

Mountain Rating

To conduct flights as PIC to and from mountain airstrips (altiports and altisurfaces) in the French Pyrenees and Alps. Training adapted to your initial experience level, available for pilots holding an EASA PPL(A) or higher.

Mountain Instructor Rating

To carry out flight instruction for the issue of the mountain rating. Advanced training programme for experienced mountain pilots wishing to certify others for mountain operations.
